Appointments

Routine Appointments

Please ring the Uppermill surgery after 10.00am to make a routine appointment.  You may consult whom you wish, but it is preferable to stay with one doctor for each particular problem.

This practice operates an advance booking system.  This means you can book your appointment up to four weeks in advance with any doctor or nurse.

We are aware that some doctors do get booked up quickly and to help you to be able to get an appointment with the doctor of your choice we identify a limited number of appointments through out the week with all doctors that can only be booked 48 hours in advance.

The practice also offers a nurse triage service each morning for people who need immediate advice.  If it is felt that an appointment with a doctor or nurse is needed for that day an emergency appointment can be booked at the end of surgery.

To help with access to a doctor outside working hours the Walk In Centre, in Oldham is open from 7.00am until 10.30pm seven days per week, please ask our receptionists for directions.

Nurse Triage

Any patient who rings between 8.00 and 10.00am for a same-day appointment will be triaged by the nurse on duty.  Patients will be offered advice or a booked appointment if necessary.  This system ensures that patients have access to the most appropriate healthcare professional.

Extra Appointments

If appointments are fully booked but you feel you need to be seen on that day you may be added as an extra to an already full surgery list.  Please appreciate that priority has to be given to those patients with previously booked appointments.  You will be seen at the end of the surgery unless there is an unexpected gap in the doctors schedule.  As an extra patient the doctor can only deal with the urgent problem requiring immediate attention so please book a routine appointment for any other matter that you wish to raise with the doctor.

Cancellations

if you cannot attend an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible as this will free up your appointment for another patient.
