Practice Nurses
All Practice nurses provide generic nursing services, particularly in relation to cervical screening, family planning and health promotion / risk prevention.
Sharon Mills
RGN, A51 Specialist Nurse in Practice Nursing, Asthma diploma, COPD diploma, CHD diploma, Family Planning diploma.
Joined Practice in May 1988
Sharon is the Practice Nurse Team leader, having responsibility for the management of the Practice nursing service.
She provides the nurse led element of the respiratory service in both asthma and COPD. She delivers a nurse led hypertension service.
Sandra White
RGN, A51 Specialist nurse in Practice Nursing, Diabetes diploma, CHD diploma, Family Planning diploma, Marie curie diploma.
Joined Practice in November 1988.
Sandra provides the nursing element of the Diabetes service. She has responsibility for the Travel clinic – offering immunizations and advice for foreign travel.
Sue Kiveal
RGN, A51 Specialist nurse in Practice Nursing, Nurse Prescriber, CHD diploma, Heart Failure diploma, Family Planning diploma. Anti-coagulation module MSc level.
Joined Practice in March 1991
Sue provides care for people with coronary heart disease, vascular disease and heart failure. She has joint responsibility for the anticoagulation service
Sue Daws
RGN, BSc hon. in professional health studies, Diploma in nursing, Asthma diploma, Family Planning diploma, Rheumatology diploma, Anticoagulation module MSc level.
Joined Practice in May 2001
Sue provides the nursing element of the Child Health service. She has joint responsibility for the anticoagulation service. Her role involves monitoring of patients taking medication for rheumatology.
Health Care Assistants
The role of the health care assistant supplements that of the practice nurse, by assisting in clinics such as diabetes and minor surgery. They are responsible for taking blood tests, recording blood pressures and ECG’s and for carrying out new patient health checks.
